Alan is an experienced coach and facilitator with over 20 years of Board level experience in the NHS.

He specialises in providing senior support to organisations and individuals to help them deliver against key challenges and targets. He was previously Accountable Officer for 3 CCGs in East Berkshire, responsible for a budget of over £450M and a population of over 450,000.

Alan's specialism is helping organisations and individuals achieve their full potential. He has significant experience working with clinical and management professionals, board members and politicians to deliver change across services and organisations.

Recent projects include designing and supporting the delivery of a range of leadership programmes for senior clinicians; supporting CCG Chairs to work in a new collaborative environment; working with CCG Governing Bodies to support partnership working and improved patient and public engagement. Alan is also a facilitator for the NHS Leadership Academy Nye Bevan Programme.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • An experienced public health professional with over twenty years' experience in the National Health Service and Local Authority
  • From 1997 – 2008, a registered Learning Disability Nurse providing a clinical service to promote optimum good health for adults with learning disabilities and their families within a multi-professional team in North and West Oxfordshire
  • From 2008 career spans different roles in public health and now has responsibility for leading the development of policy and strategy and implementation for a range of public health programmes for 0-19's (Health Visiting and School Health Nursing Services), Healthy Weight, Physical Activity, Suicide Prevention and Mental Wellbeing to meet the needs of Oxfordshire's population.
  • Surveillance and assessment of the population health and wellbeing to inform public health interventions.
  • Postgraduate certificate in Commissioning and Purchasing for Public Care
  • Chair of Oxfordshire's Multi-Agency Suicide Prevention Group
  • Board member from 2015

Current role on the board: Trustee with a particular interest in children and young people, physical activity and mental wellbeing. Member of the Strategy and Performance Committee.

Interests: cooking, enjoying the outdoors, walking, gardening and a regular supporter of my kids at football, gymnastics, cricket and badminton, including volunteering for the cricket teas!

  • Long-time Oxfordshire resident.
  • Bsc in Geography and qualified as Chartered Surveyor in 1992. Director of VSL and Partners.
  • Playing member of Oxford Hawks Hockey Club since 1993 and former junior coach and County Hockey coach. Organised Hawks Junior Festival
  • Organised Corporate Challenge in 2018 including corporate Olympics and plankathon.
  • Board member of Experience Oxfordshire. Chair of Reciprocate. Member of Oxford Strategic Partnership. Member of Oxford Youth Partnership. Ambassador for Access Sport and SANE

Current role on the board: Trustee with particular interest in youth sport in deprived communities and disability sport and workplace wellbeing.

Interests: Enthusiastic parkrunner (Oxford parkrun) and completed London Marathon and Race to the Stones ultra in 2018. Regular runner in Town and Gown and Oxford Half Marathon. Also enjoys skiing and bodyboarding.

  • Qualified chartered accountant (ICAEW) with over twenty years experience working for one of the largest professional services firms (PwC), including three years living and working in Singapore
  • Particular focus and interest in advising organisations on their Internal Audit and Risk Management capabilities
  • Studied at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University (MA Metallurgy and Science of Materials), and recently returned to live in the county

Current role on the board: Trustee with a particular focus on finance, audit and risk management. Member of FRRAG.

Interests: Former county cricket and hockey player, and represented Oxfordshire in mixed hockey. Still a keen sportswoman and actively play a number of sports including hockey, tennis, golf and swimming. Full playing member of Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).

· Responsible in current professional role for business development, social investment, impact management and developing Aspire's new social recruitment service and Enterprise Development Programme.

· Studied Politics and Economics at the University of Manchester and Sustainable Business Management through Judge Business School, Cambridge.

· Completed Worthwhile Graduate Scheme through the Oxford Student Hub, now part of the Young Trustee programme.

· Completed A-Levels as a Scholar with Forest Green Rovers Football Club.

Interests: I'm a regular runner and play football regularly. Recently a huge fan of American sports and keen to watch when the time difference allows! Trying to learn the piano, emphasis on trying….

Kate works in strategy and governance at Nationwide Building Society. She was previously in the charity sector for over a decade, latterly as CEO at Oxford United Community Trust.

She is passionate about the needs of Oxfordshire's diverse communities, and has a particular interest in mental health and education. A one-time academic and qualified coach, she enjoys seeing people of all ages and backgrounds unlock their potential and achieve their goals.

Interests: walking and sometimes running; cooking; music and literature; football and particularly her home team Manchester City.

Knowledge and Experience: Teacher since 2002 with a range of roles and responsibilities across the spectrum of a school. Alongside this have been coaching for more than 20 years mostly in Football. Passionate about creating positive environments for learning to take place and getting everyone more active.

The most unusual of the experiences is being a consultant to a range of sports books for young people in 2010.

Current role on the board: Closely aligned to the work of the organisation aligned to Children and young people.

Interests: Sport! Love playing, coaching and watching sport. Support the running of Moretonville FC as well as coach in the U8 & U16 age groups. Coach cricket in the summer to keep my hand in!

I practice what I preach by running and cycling as well as playing Golf and Badminton.

- Responsible in current professional role for running activities for young people with additional needs in South Oxfordshire, as well as sheltered work experience for adults in Oxford City

- Various volunteering and coaching experience with a range of ages from teaching P.E. to 6 year olds to coaching university-aged netball players

- Studied Classics at the University of Oxford

- Completed Social Impact Internship through the Oxford Hub, now part of their Young Trustee programme

Interests: Dance; tai chi; going to the theatre; baking (and eating) cakes
