Community Active Travel Fund
Do you have an idea that can help people in your community to travel more actively and to walk, wheel or cycle more regularly? We want to hear your ideas and help to make them a reality.
Active Oxfordshire is delighted to announce the opening of a new Community Active Travel Fund to increase rates of walking, wheeling and cycling across Oxfordshire, focused on the areas that need it most.
Funding from Oxfordshire County Council has been made available for local community projects which aim to encourage residents to adopt more active travel behaviours. The aim of the fund is to support local residents from priority neighbourhoods to travel more actively to work, school and in their daily lives.
So, if you are working in priority areas in Oxfordshire and have a great idea about how to increase active travel, we would love to work with you to make it happen!
Key information: Community Active Travel Fund
Funding amount available: While the average grant given is likely to be in the region of £2,000 - £8,000, there is the potential for larger grants for projects which will be delivered in multiple wards, and/or those that focus on multiple forms of active travel. There may also be potential for multi-year funding of up to three years.
Applications welcomed from: Established community and resident groups, charities and organisations who have ideas on how to increase cycling, wheeling and walking for travel. Organisations need to be working in priority areas of the county - more information on this here.
Application deadline: 13th December
Allocation decision date: 22nd January
Projects will need to begin by 18th March 2024 at the latest.
We want to work with your charity or community group/organisation to increase rates of walking, wheeling and cycling, and are here to provide you with support, advice and guidance during the process.
