Healthy Active Children: Virtual conference 2020

Week commencing 16th November

We are delighted to announce that bookings for the 2020 Oxfordshire Healthy Active Children Conference are now OPEN!

We may not be able to come together in person this year, but the conference remains as important as ever. We know that currently only 19% of children nationally are getting their 60 active minutes a day, with mental health issues among our young people in Oxfordshire continuing to rise. This is why we've launched our new Active 60 campaign, so that we can work together to get Oxfordshire's children active and protect their physical and mental well-being.

We will be running a series of interactive webinars throughout the week, with dedicated sessions for both primary and secondary schools, as well as open workshops to bring partners from multiple sectors together to fight inactivity and tackle inequality.

Here's a taster of the sessions on offer:

For Primary Schools:

  • Swimming and water safety
  • Safe return to PE
  • Family based interventions

For Secondary Schools:

  • Increasing girls' participation in sport
  • Physical activity for young people's mental health
  • Power of a well school

We will also be providing additional "open" workshops for everyone to attend, including on how sport can tackle anti-social behaviour, safeguarding and a whole system's approach to achieving healthy weight.

Sessions are more limited this year to ensure the best possible experience for attendees. We strongly recommend booking early.
