Paul Brivio, Chief Executive of Active Oxfordshire to step down in 2022
Active Oxfordshire's Chief Executive Paul Brivio will be stepping down later in 2022 after leading the organisation since 2018. This has been a time of real transformation for Active Oxfordshire, including a new strategic direction, involvement in multiple county-wide partnerships, new investments and interventions to fight inactivity and tackle inequality and the emergence of a new strategic framework for physical activity across the county.
Paul says:
"Leading the Active Oxfordshire team through a period of transformation has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I'd like to thank Sport England, our multiple partners, trustees and staff team for their support during this process. We are privileged to be part of a thriving voluntary and community sector in Oxfordshire, with superb support from county and district councils, Public Health and Oxfordshire CCG. COVID-19 has shown how strong we are when we come together, and there is much that can be built upon as Active Oxfordshire approaches its next stage of development.
I think this is a good time for me to pass on the baton and we will soon be advertising for my successor. She or he will inherit a sound organisation, a great team and a clear purpose to fight inactivity and tackle inequality. With interviews planned in early May this is all about succession and handover- a process that is likely to take several months to complete."
Alan Webb, Chair of Active Oxfordshire, said:
"I'd like to sincerely thank Paul for his hard work and commitment over the last few years. Active Oxfordshire is now in a very good place with a good funding platform secured, a strong team in place and meaningful, positive relationships being made across the wellbeing sector. This is the next stage in our evolution building on our planning, thinking and collaborations and represents a very exciting time to lead the Active Oxfordshire team going forwards."
We will keep partners, stakeholders informed of progress.
