The growth and impact of chronic diseases that are not passed person to person like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases has been described as by the World Health Organisation as a "slow motion disaster" that will challenge "the very foundations of public health.

Healthy Place Shaping means promoting healthier choices in order to prevent, reduce and delay ill health.

Questions to consider:

How will this consider and address any of the many social, economic and environmental factors which have an impact on people's health?

How will this promote healthier choices such as better diet, increased physical activity, or quitting smoking?

How will this help people to prevent, reduce or delay the onset of ill-health? (e.g. heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and chronic respiratory diseases etc.)

How will this promote healthier choices such as better diet, increased physical activity, or quitting smoking?
