Oxfordshire School Games

Last week the second round of Oxfordshire School Games county final competitions took place. On Monday 26th March 2018 the Secondary Netball competitions at Oxford City Football Club and on Tuesday 27th March 2018 the Hockey and Cross Country competitions at Tilsley Park in Abingdon.

Over 1000 pupils from across Oxfordshire took part in these Oxfordshire School Games competitions. We want to thank you all for making these events such a big success and we are pleased that we could give so many children the opportunity to take part in these competitions.

Congratulations to all schools and individuals who won one of the competitions. You can find the results list of every competition by clicking here.

In just two weeks time the next Oxfordshire School Games county finals will take place! Next up are Football, Primary Netball, Boccia and Primary Panathlon on 18th April and Secondary Swimming and Sportshall Athletics on 19th April.

Oxfordshire will play host to the OVO Energy Women's Tour for the next three years, starting with the county's first-ever stage of Britain's leading professional women's stage race on day three of the 2019 event on Wednesday 12 June.

Stage three of the high-profile British Cycling and UCI Women's World Tour event has been secured for Oxfordshire by the county council and five districts in a three-year partnership with the race organisers SweetSpot that will bring major economic and health benefits to the county.

The stage will start in Henley-on-Thames and end at one of the county's most iconic locations, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Blenheim Palace.
