Physical Activity interventions

Active Oxfordshire has funded Sunrise Multicultural Project to provide a football activity for young people in Banbury Neithrop. This programme aims to improve community and family cohesion whilst increasing physical activity

South Oxfordshire Food Education Alliance (SOFEA) are delivering Table Tennis and Fitness sessions for their cohort of young people at their warehouse in Didcot. Read about the impact of these interventions here:

TRAX used Satellite Club funding from Active Oxfordshire to provide an opportunity to their students to become more physically active.

Students were able to reclaim and repair a bicycle that they can then use themselves. The students are now planning to take part in a charity bike ride later in 2019

Mental Wellbeing

The Oxfordshire School Games is a year round programme of sport and physical activity delivered by School Games Organisers and Active Oxfordshire:


Sport England has released key findings from Active Lives Children and Young people surveys about children's attitude towards physical activity.

Sport England Youth Personas

Sport England is working with YouthSight to delve into the personalities, behaviours, attitudes and aspirations of young people.

From this research Youth Sight have created Under the Skin, which breaks down young people into six key personas. By understanding these various groups deliverers will be better equipped to meet the needs of young people through physical activity

Oxfordshire County Council: proactive
targeting of schools

Oxfordshire County Council's Public Health team has joined forces with Active Oxfordshire, to help target schools that may need further support in increasing physical activity for their pupils

Child Health Profiles 2019 Public Health England

PHE has published the Child Health Profiles pdfs which present data across key health indicators of child health and wellbeing. The profiles provide an annual snapshot of child health and wellbeing for each local authority in England and sit alongside an interactive version which is available for both local authorities and CCGs. They are designed to help local organisations understand the health needs of their community and work in partnership to improve health in their local area.
